SoCraTes UK COVID Policy
Although the COVID-19 pandemic may feel like a distant memory to many of us, the disease
still causes illness and long-term harm across the world.
This is particularly impactful for those of us who are vulnerable, or who need to come into contact with loved ones and
others who are vulnerable.
Masks - provided and strongly recommended
- Masks are provided, and we strongly recommend wearing a mask when indoors (except while eating/drinking).
Testing - Provided and mandatory whilst at the conference
- Lateral flow tests will be provided for each day and are mandatory to perform (conference organisers should be
notified if the test is positive).
- In addition, it is strongly recommended that you take a test before travelling to the conference if possible.
(One person arrived at SoCraTes UK 2025 with COVID, and it was testing that enabled us to discover this early and to
prevent other participants from catching it whilst still allowing the affected party to take part in the event.)
Air fitering
Air filtering will be provided in meeting rooms that don’t have windows to the outside.
What to do if you test positive for COVID
- You must avoid indoor sessions; the organisers will do our best to organise a video call to dial you in to any
sessions that you want to attend.
- You must avoid the restaurant for breakfast/lunch/dinner (we’ll arrange for hotel staff to deliver meals to your
room).
- Outdoor sessions: Feel free to organise and attend outdoor sessions; wear a mask when attending and keep a safe
distance from others whilst attending them.
